Mmmm. I have a big fat TOME of a book and it could all be yours for reasonable bang to buck ratio.
In other news, CANDLEMAN staggers on, along with KUNG FU NUN, i know some of u liked her, and also a MEGA PRIEST creation short is in the wings.
Any minute now, I intend to get a site up where you will be able to down load mini issues as they are reliesed for your own art drool collecting!

Seriously man, you are an extremely accomplished digital painter. Are there any resources out there that have been particularly useful to you?

Unfortunatly, no, I dont really use much in the way of RESOURCES, I've picked up the odd book and DVD over the years but always found they either tell me stuff i know or seem to miss out a key section of the images development. Mainly, the things that have helped me the most are my friends and collegues, they'll point something out and say, maybe try this etc, and that helps, so get other artists to CRIT your work. Something thats a bit tough on DA is finding people that have the nuts to say, 'yeah it's good but have u tried this?'
The next thing I do is look at other peoples work and REALLY look, beyond the WOW THATS GREAT stage, try and see what they have done, see if you can find early pics of the work, I find seeing how people START a picture can be hugelly helpful.
DONTS!
Dont get stuck on technology, there is no brush, or programme that will acheive a better picture than sweat and skill, remember Sistine Chapel was painted with a brush and paint.
DO
KEEP DRAWING, every day draw draw draw and draw, its how you'll get good, after that it's all technoque, if you can draw, you can learn the rest of it.
Hope that was helpful and not crap
a) I can understand where you're coming from about DA; a lot of people are quick to compliment, but not so many are ready to really analyse the work and tell you where it falls down. Having said that, i don't think i'd be anywhere near where i am without having the artwork 'out there' and subject to public scrutiny.
b) That's a really good tip about looking at other people's work; i do find it challenging deconstruct really great pieces of art, but it's a technique that's gradually developing.
c) The 'net is a great medium for seeing what is possible; i've seen people pull off better results with Microsoft Paint than i can get with Adobe Photoshop!
Again, thank you for such a detailed response. I'm going to have a look through your gallery when i'm finished here, and perhaps get some inspiration!
